The investigative agency for The United States Congress has completed its official examination of mortgage overcharges nationwide.

The examination revealed that at least $15 billion in mortgage overcharges are owed to approximately one out of every two homeowners.

Professional Carelessness

These overcharges, made by loan processors, underwriters and mortgage servicing companies, consist of loan errors, overcharges in escrow accounts and improperly calculated interest rates.
