Q: How long will information stay in my credit report files?

A: Information will remain on your credit report for:

I. Open credit accounts, in good standing, will remain on your credit bureau report indefinitely

II. Negative, derogatory or delinquent account information will remain on your credit report for seven years

III. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for ten years from the date of filing, regardless if it was

     dismissed or if it was discharged, a chapter 13 bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for seven years

IV. Inquiries will remain on your credit report for up to two years.


Q: What will I receive with my credit report purchase from the three credit bureaus?

A: Three separate credit reports with the option of also receiving your credit score.


Q: What if I have a question about my credit report after I purchased it from each credit bureau?

A: Although, the three main credit bureaus are trying to service their clients more efficiently, their customer service

     is still lagging and more than likely you will only receive assistance from an automated answering service. But,

     as long as you are persistent, you should be able to reach a live representative for assistance.
