Credit Report Contents

Your Credit Report Contains personal information about many aspects of your life, such as:
  • Your date of birth
  • Social security number
  • Current, closed and delinquent accounts
  • Account numbers and type of account
  • Amount owed and payment history
  • Date opened and all activity
  • Current and previous residence
  • Employment history
  • Inquiries made by companies
  • Salary information over $75,000
  • Life insurance amounts of $150,000 and higher

    Plus all lawsuits, foreclosures, bankruptcies, tax and property liens, judgments, charge-Offs and overdue child Support (in some states)

    Your credit report does not contain any of the following information


  • Race
  • Religion
  • Personal Assets
  • Criminal Records
  • Medical History
  • Personal Lifestyle
  • Political Preferences

    How long will information stay in your credit report?


    Open credit accounts, in good standing, can remain on your credit bureau report indefinitely. Negative, derogatory or delinquent account information can remain on your credit report for seven years. Inquiries can remain on your credit report for up to two years.

    A Chapter 7 bankruptcy can remain on your credit report for ten years from the date of filing, regardless if it was dismissed or if it was discharged, and a chapter 13 bankruptcy can remain on your credit report for seven years.

  • Credit Report Tip


    Your credit report does not contain your personal medical history. But, the Medical Information Bureau (MIB) has a report that does, if you applied for life, health, or disability insurance during the preceding seven years. Please note that a group policy may not apply, but an individual policy does.
